All that needed to be done was to copy the existing PST file to the new computer, configure the account as a POP account which must be done manually ensuring that it used the existing PST file instead of letting Outlook create a new one. ![]() That being the case, there would have been absolutely no need to export the PST file and import the PST file on the new computer. If you configured the account by just entering the email address / password, the account will be configured as an IMAP account by default which uses an OST fileĪlso based on your description, this account was configured as a POP account on the old computer which uses a PST file.
